blind contour portraits

In a battle to the death of who can be the most beautiful, –most youthful, –most hot, –most sexy, –most alluring, –most anything-that-is-unattainable-by-humans-yet-only-feasible-if-you-buy-our-new-product-for-19.95—we forget; that we are already beautiful. That our imperfections are what make us unique, and our differences what make us interesting.

In an effort to demonstrate that beauty is more than something skin deep, I began drawing portraits.

Blinded by Design originated as a way to capture ones natural beauty without the influence of society. The portraits are drawn without looking down at the paper and without lifting the pen off the page. In its essence it is a contour drawing, but in its final form it is a unique and natural way to appreciate our differences.
